This is first a quest.
The one to find the perfect gesture, to find THE move. The (sound) adventurer is the sound transmitter, but he is particularly the actuator. By his steady-stream movement searching, will be streamed, broadcasted and guessed the original electric Drone-sound. But, it needed to input an human breath, an heartbeat, a rhythm, but activated like a motor unit: to link symbolically gesture and walk, but trying to keep them independents, biomechanicly.
The gesture is sharp, tonic, it launches the sound, extend it, it cuts, it hits, breaks, hacks, it shows the direction to go through. That drone is in total adequacy with the idea of the exploration of unknowns’ territories or to precise. The (musical) track is not inscribed, but, at least, you can hear and follow the sound-signal. But every quest, every territory, has its limits.
The energy, the autonomy, are temporary? The electronic cricket that it’s blasting its signal, sensor fixed on its arm like an injury, attached by a wire to its dispositif, hampered in its walk by the awkward message, is not eternal. The quest will be ended by the possibility of liberation of the human-actuator:
The exhaustion, the empty batteries, the transmitting-prothesis’ unballasting, the wire’ lifting, the hurt, many scenarios are possible. What between the system or the user will exhaust the other first?
By the way of a performative vision, I’d like to think that I will deplete and exhaust the Machine, to its destruction, and at least to keep it under control. Ambiguity and paradox.
